Shiva Shankar Manjunatha is a Software Engineer and naturalist with 25+ years in cloud-native infrastructure, Linux systems programming, and embedded firmware. He has co-authored two published ornithological field guides — Birds of Nitte University Campus and Birds of Southern Coastal Karnataka — documenting 224 species through systematic field surveys and photography. A member of the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and Regional Coordinator for Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s eBird platform, he has contributed over two decades to citizen science and avian documentation across coastal Karnataka. His work sits at the intersection of technology and conservation, applying data-driven rigour to biodiversity documentation and ecological awareness. A certified Heartfulness Preceptor, nature photographer, and avid cyclist and badminton player, he brings the same curiosity and discipline to everything he pursues.
